Animal Documentation

Source of Mice: DO mice consisted of approximately 850 male and female adult mice from eight DO generations (G4-G11). The study used five independent cohorts of 100-200 non-sibling mice, and each cohort having half the animals from the first litter in the respective generation, and half were from the second litter. Mice were weaned at 3 weeks of age.

Age (wks): 3-30 wks at testing

Test Facility: The Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor, ME, USA

Feed: Standard rodent chow or high fat high sucrose (HFHS) diet

Water: Acidified water ad libitum

Bedding: Pine bedding

Husbandry: Weaned, three week old animals are housed in same-sex, pressurized, individually ventilated cages (Thoren #11 Duplex II; Thoren Caging Systems, Hazelton, PA)
